Professional info
Dirk's career started at the age of 12 as a DJ at wedding events in his home town in Europe, Belgium. He realized very early on that his thru passion was not playingback music but creating shows. At the age of 15 he started his first professional job under a apprentice program at Flashlight Europe where he worked his way up thru the ranks from warehouse Engeneer to lighting Director.
After he finished his apprenticeship he went on to work for a brand new company in the Netherlands. X-storage. As a production Manager and Designer he worked here on one of his most challenging projects to date. "DanceVally", A Electronic Dance Music festival for over a 100.000 people with 18 stages.
After X-Storage management failed to for-fill there corporate obligations and had to close there doors Dirk moved on and took a position as project manager at there biggest supplier, AED-Rent. Besides managing a large variety of projects he also was in-charge of the maintenance department.
A project manager position could however not satisfy Dirk's needs for creativity and after a few years he transitioned to programming lighting consoles as a freelancer where he then was offered a lighting director position at Belgiums largest Design company, Painting With Light.
At Painting with Light Dirk did not only mastered his programming skills and gained his lighting design expertise in television lighting but he also discovered his skill's in CAD design and 3D modeling. After a few successful years while directing the lighting for europe's largest touring Ice spectacle he met his now beautiful wife. After he married this Los Angeles native they relocated together to epicenter of the entertainment industry, Hollywood California.
This is where in 2007 he founded his First US company "Wolfram Lighting Services". After a few successful years this company was closed down to sart a newly merged venture "Qube Inc."
Up until the day of today Dirk passionately runs the day to day of Qube inc, whiles also being the principle designer for a large variety of shows worldwide.
